Per mwcqimmunodepressione si intende lo stato di un mwcgpaziente che si trovi ad avere ridotte mwcwdifese immunitarie per cause diverse. Per esempio in corso di infezioni mwdaanergizzanti, mwdqmalattie croniche o trattamenti mwdgchemioterapici antitumorali.

Il mweasistema immunitario è preposto alla salvaguardia e tutela di un mweqorganismo vivente. Stati di alterazione indotti da varie cause, come abuso di mwegdroghe, esposizione ad ambienti nocivi, mwewcarenze alimentari o addirittura stati di mwfasofferenza estremi, possono compromettere l'efficacia di tale sistema indebolendolo e generando lo stato immunodepresso. Uno stato immunodepresso espone il soggetto al pericolo di contrarre varie mwfqmalattie che se non prontamente curate possono condurre alla mwfgmorte.
